ode to the burro!

After having it around for 9 great years, we sent our beloved burro on its way to live with my brother and his wife. We'll miss having it around!

The burro has followed us to Condie Meadows, Lava, Moab, Smith & Morehouse, Blacksmith Fork, Bear Lake, Green River, Skyline Trail, Brownie Lake and on and on. We have had people follow us until we stopped and ask to see inside and others offer to pay us on the spot to buy it from us! You wouldn't think this fiberglass bubble was such a hot commodity, would you!? After all, how many other camp trailers can you pick and move by hand?

One of my favorite memories is while we were camped in a Moab RV park, alongside all the million dollar land-yachts! A retired man came by when Jeremy was outside fixing something, and said, "You gotta wife in there?!" He couldn't believe it! Said he couldn't pay his wife enough to set foot in something so small! Small yes, but big enough for a couch & table turned into "double" bed, couch turned into two bunk beds, a table, stove top, frig, sink, and the best part, porta-pottie!

And, so, alas, we bid farewell to our friend Jack. Oh, BTW, sometime you should ask Jeremy about his garlic-with-a-little steak, forgotton-toothbrush, bonding-moment Burro memory with his fishing buddy!

I am shocked! Such a fixture in the Smith family....at least you are keeping it in the family!

Oh, so sad. I never got to know burro very well. Why are you giving it up?

Beth, there is a chance you could actually see the Burro again, because my brother lives in your neck of the woods! :-)

And, Shannon, well, we just decided we've outgrown it. Bummer.

It is sad to drive down the street and expect to see a metallic shining bubbly burro and to not see it there. Oh burro, how you will be missed!

I guess it was about time to let the marshmallow go to a new family. It just wouldn't look right getting towed behind that big manly truck Jer has now right?

So I think this post is so way cute! But I got to reading your side note of stuff your kids have said...you need to publish a book! Holy cow, so funny!
